Wow, this contest had so many twists and turns! I'm very surprised to discover the new winners! While the other two pictures were nice, I think these new winning photos are far more interesting. I thought that the 2nd place photo definitely deserved a prize, and was shocked to find in the beginning that it had not won anything at all. What a pleasant turn of events. Though I made the semi-finals and didn't make the top three, I can definitely live with this result, and feel that these two photos are deserving. Congratulations. Judges, thank you for righting a wrong. I just wish it had been handled better, because the two who were disqualified took two spots away from the semi-finals, which means two qualified photos from two additional people could have take their place in the judging. This contest was botched beyond belief. I hope we learned from these mistakes! ;)

This was as badly handled as the movie itself(saw it yesterday, don't bother).
You'd think they'd check the exif data before they announced the winners. But anyway, congrats to the old and the new winners and to all who entered. I've enjoyed spending time through the contest submission gallery and in the end this is what it's all about, making good art that people can delight in. Cheers!

I'm a tad confused. That's not the original 2nd and 3rd place winners. Especially since those had quotes from the Director/Photographer attached. Did I miss the explanation as to why winners 2 & 3 were replaced?

For various reasons, Nrs 2 and 3 overlooked or misunderstood the condition about the time frame in which the pictures had to be taken. Being told about this after their win, they withdrew their entries from the contest.

1 week later and 2 out of 3 winners change without giving us the reason or so much as informing us that it happened?

well, at least this "spy" contest finally seems to have some qualities of espionage and sabotage.

if anyone does have the cliff's notes to this classified info though, my curiosity would be most pleased.

cheers.

i wouldn't have thought 'that' would basically be the same cause for both of you getting replaced. you'd have figured da would do their scrutinizing on eligibility during the semifinals rather than after announcing winners.

thanks for the info though, and sorry to see things blew up in people's faces like this~

I shall teach you something in life before you draw conclusions.
Take this lesson to heart from a person who can be your grandmother.
U have no clue what was going on behind the scenes with regards to my trying to remove myself from semi-finalist.
Mind you --i never thought It would be considered....
I tried everything within my power to rectify this...and disqualify myself.
Which has been done!
do not be so quick about drawing faulty conclusions.
life is bigger then your own perspective /perception of things.
*
*
Do you think you actualized the justice?
Lesson # 1.
There are still individuals in this decaying system of things who believe in honesty---justice and respect towards others.
If justice has been actualized--
it was not on the part of your efforts.
but of one whose heart and mind breds forth honesty and justification.
IT was via my own efforts to rectify this that I have been removed.
So--
perhaps in your life ahead of you--
you might learn something from this.
the world --and what goes on behind the scenes is much larger then our own assumptions.
We do not have all the facts!...
and therefore cannot draw faulty conclusions.
*
so yes
justice was won...
because I made sure it was.

Bad news about "your efforts" are I wonder how pressured you were for not reading the rules to begin with and then win after many, many ppl efforts to point out the rules that were broken afterwards? So, in conclusion, I think k-zumi, and many other, including myself, can take a little pride in the justice that we helped ensure happened.

As I said before here: [link]

I don't believe a crap about what *museye said, she is just saying that to look like an innocent.

She didn't said anything about his photo until someone pointed out the winter scene of her picture, then she started trolling everyone that didn't liked her picture in the contest article.

I reported the picture to $Moonbeam13 as soon as that issue came to light and she told me she was investigating.

Also, you should read what she said in her journal:

[link]

Oh yeah, she had been working on getting her picture removed since the finalist, yeah right... The winners got announced a week or so after so there were plenty of time. And also people who told him he is a cheater made so because we are a jealous immature community, not because he recycled a photography. And to show how much of a mature person he is instead of apologizing she made up a story of how much she is a victim and it's going to quit dA.

Another thing, is that $Moonbeam13 and $margotdent sent mails to the finalist before announcing the winners asking them when they took their pictures, there are even some finalist pictures that have those questions in comments so I doubt *museye really helped get his picture removed.

Honesty is the best policy!

I want to thank u kindly for ur honesty.
Thank u being true:))

I m not suret hat my photo also deserves this prize but i tried my best with it. I really spent much time at streets, under the very warm weather, even after work i went out for it, also weekends, to get enough nice photos for this contest, same day after i got this photo, my lens gaved error.I reallly wish to win first prize but not this way.

Thank u!

that comment was not for you.
but for the other person.

I am very very glad that you won this prize.
especially since you can really use it.
That was my main concern.
The thought that someone else---who abided by the rules--went out there and shot for the contest--well---I really really could not live with knowing that.
I believe --one must win only via honest means.
I am glad that this went to the rightful owner.
and look forward to seeing your accomplished works.
*
dont question whether or not your photo deserves the prize---
its done!...enjoy it!.

They all look the same. . . :confused:notice how all the people are all to the left of the picture. I thought there would of at least of been some difference between each one chosen. They all have about the same feel. Also the two top winners see how there is the person to the left and then a second person off to the right both there legs kind of raised but facing different ways. :confused:I don't know I just feel there should of been some differences to this whole "Slice of life" I guess everyone in life is stands to the left and are just walking around a lot. There were better images in the top 25 finalist. Funny thing is I saw two of those images and thought 2nd and 3rd would be picked because 1 was black and white and a street scene. The other was a woman just sitting on a transit/subway train. I remember them quite well but they seem kind of blaa. Not much really going on in them. Not much feeling. Now don't get me wrong they do reflect a scene in life and something you see every day but never really stop to admire. Thats ok but all three are two similar. I just feel there should of been a mix of winners not just 3 images that are all similar. Don't you all find that kind of odd?:disbelief: Maybe I didn't read the rules right, I guess I should of sent a image in with a person just standing to the left of the picture and I would of had a chance.:woohoo::no: Oh well, better luck next time. I am glad they won there still good images just think there should of been some variety.

i'm a masterful and crafty assassin.

confronted with a life of death situation, i undergo surveillance work; undercover, learning, spying.

spying on... people...

people... blowing bubbles?..

yeah, that sure "captures the spirit of the film".
