Stock imagery is very popular on deviantART and we are proud of that, however, usable stock is getting buried among images that simply cannot be used and therefore must be weeded out by our Gallery Directors.

To avoid having gallery directors move your images - please ensure they follow these guidelines:

:pointr: Size must be a MINIMUM of 600x600 pixels (excluding vintage portraits that are relatively small and of low quality)

:pointr: No heavy distortion due to blur/noise/grain (this rule is case-by-case and at the gallery director's discretion for the usability of the image in question.)

:pointr: No webcams or cell phone images

:pointr: No sexually explicit imagery

Your adherence to these standards will enable us to maintain a usable gallery of images.

Should you have an questions about the Stock galleries, please direct them to the gallery directors : !radioPooh , `oibyrd and `LawrenceDeDark

Are stock photos used from all photo categories or just specific ones?

Stock photos are uploaded only to the Stock Images category.

OIC, not too familiar with the term myself, not even sure what constitutes a stock photo... i think at one time i knew, its one of those things where you think you know but you just cannot quite get it out of your memory, just beyond me... but i'll do myself a favor and reread back on it... thanks for the reply tho

No problem. If you really have any questions, you can stop in at the ARStock chatroom in dAmn or ask around in the Stock Photos forum. :)

Great guidelines. I hope more will follow them, and make browsing stock images that much more enjoyable. I hate finding a great image, only to discover its the size of a mousepad. :(

Though this lacks a: "please include all arms and legs inside the picture at all times, and enjoy the ride!" guideline, but then again, maybe I'm just picky and like to have my models non-amputated. :P
