Over the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways.
The Gallery Moderator (previously known as Gallery Director) and Message Network Admin (MN@) teams have become a much loved and appreciated role, with many volunteers proudly detailing their experience in applications to enter into successful careers with companies who all recognise the value of volunteering in such a vibrant and eclectic community. Did you know that some of our now full time Staff were once volunteers? $fourteenthstar, $Moonbeam13, $pachunka, $aunjuli, $y2jenn, $damphyr, `Tachy-on, $dxd and $Ikue all volunteered in various roles -- and we are all very proud of that fact!

So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many others who deviate to be recognised in the crowd.

How did you first discover deviantART?

Well to be completely honest, i had no idea that this site even existed, until i got with husband . He told me about this website that is dedicated to artist , and I took and look and decided to join.
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

Its addicting !! Ok well it is but the real reason why, is because of how amazing everyone is. The people i had met when i first got on da were amazing! The more and more people i meet, i feel like im growing not with only myself but with all of those around me.
Also i would have to say all the inspiration i have gotten from so many different types of art, and the biggest thing is being able to relate to people, because we all have our story !

How did you first discover deviantART?

I never knew about the internet until I was about 7 or 8 years old, where I would just play games on there once in a while. When I was about 11, I browsed around the internet a little more often, and ended up reading fanfiction of some movies and TV shows

. I looked at some of the profiles of authors, and some linked their dA accounts. I browsed around that deviantART for a short time and dismissed it as nothing.
Shortly after turning 13, my English teacher made my class participate in the National Novel Writing Month where I typed my fingers off over 21,000 words and became an active member in the forums. After almost one year, someone posted a thread about deviantART. I visited this wonderful community again, an

Everyday we're CV'ingAs a Community Volunteer - I do as much or as little within the community that I feel comfortable doing. We're not pressured to do this and that, we don't even have to give a Daily Deviation every day, we choose how we promote our selected galleries/chats and forums and we're not fixed to any specific rule on how much or how little we do. But I do believe that it's important to share with you just what the community volunteers do and why we do it. More importantly it's so easy to get lost on this site full of many people - and miss out on the awesome that's going on. So I'm going to share with you exactly what the latest awesome is...

#DarkArt-Challenges is a challenge base group exclusively for dark and horror artists. All photo-manipulators, digital painters, and traditional artists who love the dark are welcome to join. Our July challenge is "Create A Haunted Forest", and it will run through July 30th.

#dArtzine is an independent webzine that focuses on promoting artists from Deviant Art in general. All categories of art presented in the community are taken in count to be promoted, we base the selection of the art included in the issues on the quality, concept, ORIGINALITY, and uniqueness as well as style and technique that the artists have. Nevertheless the Webzine has a section special for beginners, where these ones will be encouraged to progress in their technique and helped by monitoring this progress.

#ManipulateThis's "Cards" challenge...members are asked to design at least one original Playing or Tarot card. The challenge runs from July 4th-July 17th. Winners will receive stock prizes.

#dALinkSystem is a Group dedicated towards increasing artists exposure by helping others and themselves through a simple and effective "Linking" system. "

~FocusOnLit is a group created to help deviants stay on track with their novel or short story manuscript. By dividing members by genre, we create small subgroups. We also run Monthly Workshops designed to help writers understand their characters and story better.
