Using the medium of your choice depict the most frightening image from your childhood coming out from underneath a bed, from a closet, an attic or a basement. The "image" can be a person, poltergeist, monster, animal or thing whether animate or inanimate.

THE SCARED STIFF CONTEST BEGINS AT 12:00:00 AM PACIFIC TIME ("PT") ON DECEMBER 6, 2012 AND ENDS AT 11:59:59 PM (PT) ON JANUARY 9, 2013 (THE "PROMOTION PERIOD").
- Entrant must be at least 18 years old as of December 6, 2012 and a resident of the United States, Puerto Rico or a U.S. military installation to be eligible to enter the Contest;
- Entries must be received by 11:59:59PM (PM) on January 9, 2013 and be submitted through the contest gallery on deviantART;
- Membership to www.deviantart.com (the "Contest Site") is required to enter the Contest;
- Membership to www.deviantart.com is free;
- Entrant must submit: an original work depicting the most frightening image from your childhood coming out from underneath a bed, from a closet, an attic or a basement;
- The Work may originate in any medium but must be submitted as a single JPG or PNG file;
- You may not use any third party stock images for the Work however licensed brushes and textures are acceptable;
- You may submit more than one entry;

25 Semi-Finalists will be selected by full-time deviantART Staff. From the Semi-Finalists, the final three Winners will be selected by filmmakers Andy & Barbara Muschietti and Guillermo del Toro.
All entries will be judged on the following criteria:

- Technical Artistic Skill
