The semi-finalists in both of the Digital and Traditional categories presented a wide variety of approaches and techniques all inspired by the new Dodge Dart. What comes to mind when you hear the name Pablo Picasso? That’s right, it’s time to break it down, Cubism-style! For the first time ever, we are hosting a Messenger Bag Design Challenge! We want you to create an original design for the flap of the bag in the style of Cubism.
For this challenge, we are defining Cubism as an art style in which instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from multiple viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Often, the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetrate one another to create a shallow ambiguous space.

Our Seven Deadly Sins contest allowed participants to enter in to a battle between doing what's right and giving into temptation.

In the end, every one of the Seven Deadly Sins had a winner. The grand-prize winner, chosen by the worldwide Chairman of Fotolia, Oleg Tscheltzof, will be flown out to see the advertisement printed on a billboard in San Francisco, CA and pocket $1500 USD. The six remaining finalist ads will also have their submissions printed and displayed around the city.

Create a skate deck design for one of the four bands that will be shredding up the stage at this Summer's Vans Warped Tour and support the work of Boarding for Breast Cancer!

Boarding for Breast Cancer, is a non-profit organization educating young people on breast cancer awareness and breast health. We're asking you, the artists of deviantART, to join Fearless Records and Hooligan Skateboards to benefit this great cause and to support the work of Boarding 4 Breast Cancer. How? The boards taken by Fearless Records will be auctioned off with 100% of the profits benefiting B4BC!

You pick the band from this killer set: Blessthefall, Breathe Carolina, Pierce the Veil and Tonight Alive. The bands will also be judging the decks to find the one that tunes into their sound the best.

The Grand Prize winner will score a massive prize package that includes VIP tickets for two to the Vans Warped Tour (nearest to their hometown), and the winners for each band will have their designs printed on skateboard decks that will be displayed on tour by Fearless Records. They also get a copy of their winning deck for their personal collection signed by the band!

5 Semi-Finalists for each band will be chosen by deviantART Staff. Representatives from each band will select the winning design for that band. The Grand Prize Winner will be chosen from the Semi-Finalists by a professional skateboarder!

I'm not even mad or anything. I'm trying to be understanding because I'm sure that the judges are very busy people and that they had lots of entries to go through.

But I am disappointed.
Especially because right now this is looking like a lack of prior planing more then anything.

i know deviant art judges had a lot to go through, but when the semifinalists get passed on to the bands / skater judges, they have that limited amount.

Yeah exactly. Once it gets to a certain point it really shouldn't take that long which is why I feel like someone must have messed up somewhere along the line or there was a communication fail somewhere andthat just ...sucks haha.
