Information and Responses


As a result of the category changes, the upcoming version changes and everything else under the sun my note and email volume have reached levels that would the post office in Santa's workshop at Christmas to shame.  What I am finding is that I'm continually repeating myself so I figured I'd address the most common here and hope we can find some light at the end of the tunnel and get some ease on the message system and helpdesk.

So before you ask please read below:

Screenshots are currently not working correctly, this is a known issue and being addressed.  Thank you.


Now that the categories have changed does that mean the gallery directors will change?? Is the Resource gallery director now in charge of stock? Is there someone in charge of Customization???

Firstly, please take a breath and do some Oms for me.  I'm getting this one a lot so please pay attention.  No.. there are no gallery directors that are suddenly 'team leads' because their gallery now houses another one.  So for example bleedsopretty is now not the "boss" of radioPooh and so on and so forth.  Customizations is a header, the original gallery directors will still be taking care of their respective galleries.  These people are hard-working volunteers who report to only me, not someone else in their volunteer positions if this continues to confuse you please send me a note but it seems pretty straight forward to me.


My news hasn't been posted yet

All outstanding news items in the queue were dealt with as of 6pm EST last night anything submitted after that is still there.  The news system is currently locked until the version 5 launch to ensure proper meshing of the two so please bear with us during this time.


How dare you delete Anime/Oekaki/Anthro/Comics/Cartoons!

Firstly, I will ask that you try to make it a point to read the front page news or hot topics when they come out before flaming anyone on staff.  It doesn't make us happy nor give us warm fuzzy feelings.  None of these categories have been deleted.  Anime/Manga Anthro and Comic/Cartoon changes can be read about here and Oekaki has been moved to the Anime/Manga category.  The layout for those new categories is:

Why Digital Media and Traditional Media are you implying it isn't art?!?!

No, not at all.  Media simply implies the tools you've used to create your art.  This is deviantART we know it's art.


I don't make Anime/Manga Oekaki it shouldn't be only there it needs to be elsewhere

As Oekaki is historically an anime subculture, it fits under the Anime header.  However, in the upcoming months I will add subcategories for other stylegroups to account for the different styles done in the oekaki program. Some patience required here


There should be a _______________________ subcategory under ______________

This is not the time to suggest subcategories nor am I the correct avenue to take.  These suggestions should be given to your gallery directors. I cannot stress this enough as I don't have the time to continue to respond the same way to the numerous requests of late.  Please redirect these to your gallery directors.  If you are unsure who that is please check the module in my journal


I hate the new changes

Surprisingly not a lot of these and I've received far more "It's about time" notes then flames so to this I say "huzzah"
