Dodge Dart Inspired By You Contest

Tue Apr 17, 2012, 1:07 PM

Six artists will have their amazing artworks displayed in a pop-up gallery at the Dodge-Chrysler Headquarters and score cash, iPads and other awesome prizes. There are two separate categories for entering: digital and traditional. The top three from each will be the winners!

So what do you have to do? Check out the photos of the Dodge Dart and create art that reflects some element of the car's style and inspiration. It's just sad that people are worked up on this contest. But I sympathize with them. Most artists if not all have egos. If you're not hurt one way or the other, maybe you're not passionate enough. Good thing I got the beating from friends before I submit my entry. So when people say nice things on what I did, it kind of lifted me up but no more expectations :D

yes, people are very worked up. Part of that is to blame on the results being so late, people were already worked up because of that. And then it just continued. I see a lot of very ungracious behaviour, very sad. All these people that keep referring to their own work and how bad it is they didn't make it. Get over it already! If you participate in a contest, the only good idea to have is that you are NOT going to win it. Then if ever you do, it's a nice surprise. But so many people seem so full of themselves and their own artwork and time and effort, it's nearly sickening. I think in a contest, you're to look at everything else, have faves for the win, but exclude your own work from that. Only way to stay sane and happy :D

I agree.
Just to say, i never draw/paint to win something. There was a chance for a challange, means a chance to handle a new idea.
When i draw tattoos for customers, then money is secundary for me. I'm just glad to do a new drawing wich will get into use.
The bigest wage there is that i know whereever my customers are going, a part of me will be with them. Even when they go six feet under. The hardest lesson in art is to handle critique. Not getting a "oh wow" or a 1st place doesent mean you did a bad draw. Test your self: stand back from your drawing and if you could say then "Yes, i would buy this" then you know you made a good job. But be honest to your self!

Here on DA, i must say that i'm a little sad that i'm not getting much comments on my artworks. I am very interessted in what other artists think of my work. Thats why i'm posting here between artists :dalove:
