Stamps of deviantART: MoviesIntroduction
There is a whole category filled with a lot of unique stamps. Some are animated, some are static. The original size is 99x56px, but it varies – depending on the preferences of each artist. They can be round, they can be square, they can be heart-shaped or whatever else your heart desires. Except the newer ‘modern’ stamps, they usually have a transparent typical stamp border, like their real life relatives which makes it easy to differentiate them from avatars or other smaller artworks.

dASAW 2012: This Year's Volunteers Are...I am very happy to announce this year's deviantART Staff Appreciation Week team of volunteers. These are the awesome deviants who will be collaborating until August to bring you a dASAW that you won't soon forget!

I would like to cover a few things before I announce the selected deviants:
A total of 25 deviants applied for this year's dASAW! (every application was reviewed individually

)In total, 68% of the applicants DID NOT help with last year's dASAW, while 32% did!If you are not selected, that does not mean you are excluded. There is limited space (10 spots) for volunteers, and unfortunately the decision is difficult when you need to cut 15 people. You will still be able to participate even if you are not a volunteer, and we might even ask you for your input or for some help later in the process! ;D

On Topic: It's not just black and white...

..it's also the grey in between.
Seeing how winter is approaching the black and white theme correlates strongly with that as snow starts piling up around us, the trees are barren, gray skies linger for longer then usual, and you're forced to wear socks I thought this feature would be perfect. What is odd is that when arctic temperatures approach I can get a lot of my much needed sleep easily by warming myself under the duvet and making a little shell out of it. However, I've given up on sleeping tonight as these sleeping problems are like the symptoms of a never ending cold virus. So I thought I would start my On Topic feature series now. The theme moreso being "Why is it so hard to get sleep" because even if things are black and white, there will still be very fuzzy grey areas that are not easy to understand; making it harder to fix. If you have sleeping issues yourself and/or like to cozy up to calming gray tones that surround you forever

First off, could you give us a brief introduction of yourself?
Okay. brief (hahaha, anyone on here who knows me, that is not a word I know). I'll start with the obvious. I'm an artist. That's a word that has defined my life, and it sounds silly saying it to other artists (since everyone on this site is an artist). But it has served to explain any silly behavior I might have and someone looks at me odd "I'm an artist" suffices.
I like to try all styles and mediums. I even write poetry (which I rarely ever share, because they're songs and I sing them). So, my gallery is full of a bit of everything. And most of the people on DA likely know me for my journal skins. Because I am CSS obsessed and want to make a skin out of everything I see.
I'm 31, I have a five year old son, Chase. I've lived a hard and soap opera style life growing up, which has shaped me into who I am today

Hi there, I’m Lauren

I’m 16 years old and into my sophomore year in my high school. I spend my time at home during the weekends (or all day during the summer) and in school. When I am not in school, I am spending at least 20+ hours a week playing in the marching band (which, technically, I would still be in school

). When I’m not getting my ass kicked on the football field or catching up to my homework, I spend time on deviantART.
Anyway, I love to read, write, and play on my flute. I am a bit shy in real life, so writing something down does help me express myself. I am getting busier now, so it’s hard to do many things in my spare time. It does, however, keep me sane

~Spinewinder has the ability to convey intense emotion without the addition of colour. Whether it's his black and white photography or his digital paintings, I always leave his gallery awe inspired

1. Do you feel colour is important in a piece of artwork?
Yes color choice is very important. Whether it's filled with all the colors of the rainbow, just a hint of color or no color (bw). Color choice influences the work.
2. Do you feel that black and white imagery has more or less impact? Why or why not?
I think either choice can be impactful. One doesn't have more than the other. I'd say it all depends on the work itself. For example I really can't see this [link] in anything but color. I just don't see it working. On the other hand this [link] just wouldn't have the same impact in color. And this last one. I'm not sure where to categorize it. It's mostly b/w but I'm sure you'll agree it just would not have near the impact without the red. (Regardless of ones views on the issue) [link]
