Not sure why there are so many flames on this article. Adcast has served me well in the past and $20 is a pretty good rate to be featured indiscriminately on a site this large. Most other sites charge way more than that to be featured during prime surfing times (such as weekends and nights).

At any rate, I bought the $20 promotion deal and it got the word out for me about some of my sales along with at least 30 new Watchers. Glad to see it running and hope you'll keep doing it! There's no greater power than the power to find people who connect with your artwork on some level:)

DA is a mind-numbingly huge site. Any way to make it easier for us to connect to those who might like our work is well worth it, in my opinion!

If one is really good at art people would naturally flock to one's page after a while..... if one is short of the views, one should use the money to go buy some better art supplies or a how-to book instead

I quite agree. There is a bit of luck involved with this route, but eventually talented artists will get noticed. ^_^

Actually no one is going to know you're out there if you don't advertise somehow. Comment a lot, flood the galleries with art, fave a bunch of art, or buy advertising. People don't magically arrive just because your art is decent.

Commenting, faving and gallery-submitting are a given are they not? No magic required. And plus, I don't think I've ever seen some of the really popular deviants on here actually use adcast. The main idea is to enjoy what you do and work hard first and foremost but if one can actually afford to buy adCast well then that's a nice addition but it's not really a necessity by any means.

I've been on this site since 2002 and to be honest I've never really gotten much back out of commenting and faving. If you're just here for fun then it's one thing but if you are serious about promoting your art you are going to have to invest in advertising of some sort at some point. However I still prefer the old packages of thousands of impressions dA use to sell rather than clicks.

Haha I understand where you're coming from - it isn't easy for most of us to get the amount of audience we want but when you're just starting out it's kind of hard to afford and so what I was trying to say was that it's pointless for most people to use adCast especially when they are just starting out. xD But hey, there are lots of ways to promote your art (even outside of dA) yeah?

But from what I've seen of your arts you're doing quite well! :) I hope your success increases greatly in the future ^_^

If adcast was cheap, every kid/unserious artist/anime-loving person would just pay for it.

I think the price is reasonable enough to keep the riff-raff off the ad's and to actually promote some good work, which should help good artists in the long run.

I'm not going to write out a whole essay on it, I just wanted to get the general message across :P

And I'm well aware that I doodle anime stuff, I just dont go crazy/mad for more views on them cause that'd just be silly LOL.

I love how you dump "anime-loving person" wirh "kid/unserious art". How would you like to be stereotyped?

You make it sound so bad ^_^" lighten up. I was only being brief and quick with the comment. Besides, you can't deny that so many kid/unserious artists spend immense time drawing anime, tracing, recoloring, creating unoriginal 'stuff'. It is those people which I refer to, that really dont need to be on adcast ^_^"

I am starting to get sick and tired of seeing this quote 'DeviantART loves you and knows that others will love you too. What are you waiting for? We know you want your work to be noticed and now’s the time', as it only ever seems to be said when money is involved to benefit the company. These rates are hilariously stupid! What DA needs to do is sort out thier horrendous prints systems, policies and strategies!! It is no wonder why DeviantART has a reputation of 'the money gozzlers' from all their rivals and critics.

Sorry moonbeam that I wrote this in your news article, i'm not annoyed with you at all, and this is the only article I have seen about this matter.

I think art isn't all about how many clicks somebody gets.
I come here to practice and enjoy making art...and i enjoy
how people enjoy my art, are it 2 peoples or a 1000 peoples.
I guess this is really for people who want to start a career in art.

All of the art I see in those ads is always terrible.

It must be only suckers who spend more time trying to promote themselves than the time they spend actually making art who buy those ads.

Regular Clicks -- Promo Clicks -- Package Costs
500 ---------------- 750 -------------- $20.00
1,250 ------------- 1,875 ------------- $50.00
2,500 ------------- 3,750 ------------- $100.00
6,250 ------------- 9,375 ------------- $250.00
25,000 ----------- 37,500 ----------- $1000.00

Read it again and then explain to me how it says 37,000 dollars.

The advertisement is clearly about getting MORE clicks than what you would normally, at no extra charge.
Calm down before you post such angry responses.
