Celebrating Deviousness - August 2015

Sat Aug 1, 2015, 12:00 AM
Img-00 by techgnotic

In Recognition of Exemplary Membership and an Outstanding Spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community.

Introducing DamaiMikaz

“My name is Damaris, but most people know me as DamaiMikaz. I’m a self-taught artist from the Netherlands and I’ve been making art ever since I can remember. When I first came to DeviantArt I was pretty much dragged here by my friends, that all worked on original projects. Up until that time, I was primarily a writer and traditional artist. It was DeviantArt that sparked my interest for digital art, and it didn’t just spark my interest, but the community’s willingness to help out people really gave me a good start.

It’s remarkable how easy it is to connect to people on this website over things as simple as original projects and learning how to do art. Following other artists was what helped me to spark ideas and keep drawing.

The tutorials, groups, and helpful reactions on the forums guided me towards becoming a better artist. What I’ve always liked most about art, is how it brings people together. Doing art on your own can be quite lonely and challenging, improving together is a lot easier because it’s more fun.

Over time DeviantArt has become a second home to me. I’ve met amazing artists, got more support than I could’ve ever imagined, and made some of my best friends here. People cheered with me when I was happy and supported me during the darker times in life. Thanks for your support. It has been an amazing journey so far, and I hope we’ll even reach greater heights.”

August 2015

Deviousness Award Winner

DamaiMikaz is one of the most inspiring artists you’ll find on DeviantArt. A long-time dedicated member of the community, her journals regularly provide insight into creating art, inspiration for art and life, and thought-provoking ideas that spark magnetic conversations. Her approach to digital art has kept her creating, growing, and improving throughout the years, and one glance into her gallery is enough to see the progress that she has made and continues to make.

It is with great pride that we name DamaiMikaz the recipient of the Deviousness Award for August 2015.

I have known of DamaiMikaz for a long time … I don’t think there are many deviants who haven’t come across her insanely talented gallery at least once or twice. However, only recently was I able to get to know her better. She is one of the newest mentors at seniormentors but she has already become a valuable, enthusiastic asset to our team. She is open, friendly, and approachable. Her love of DeviantArt and the community within is impossible to miss and it has been inspiring to chat with her and get to know her better! I’m thrilled that she has now received Deviousness, for she truly represents the meaning of this accolade. Congratulations, Damai!”

I find DamaiMikaz to be a wonderful and inspirational voice towards this community! She has such great advice and willing spirit to motivate people here on dA! Her art is also super fabulous! Thank you, Damai for your support and inspiration!”

DamaiMikaz is a super-talented artist who loves the community and is extremely friendly and approachable. I congratulate you dear friend and wish you the best of the best - stay extraordinary.”

I’ve not met many people on DeviantArt who could just downright shock me with their ability to self-market and create a brand around their username within the community - DamaiMikaz is foremost in my mind when I think of people who have, though. She’s so naturally good at making herself known that it’s almost scary. She’s one of those people who are everywhere, sure, but also have wonderful and very recognizable artwork with a personality to match. And whatever she’s doing is working; her name is in everyone’s mind and she has a watcher base that’s literally as big as Samoa. Recently I’ve got to chat with her a bit more since she’s joined the team at seniormentors (she’s giving back to newer artists in the community because she’s just that awesome) and was delighted to find out she’s very nice and personable too. Congrats, Damaris! If anyone embodies the whole “authentically devious” aspect of this award it’s you, hands-down.”

She has said that she would rather be happy than rich or famous. And it seems she’s succeeding. There’s a very positive vibe that she gives off in everything she does. I originally started watching her when she became a senior member, without knowing much about her. It quickly became obvious how she got there. I love when people give back to the community. She does so much, from helpful articles to features to simply being positive. Her support of other artists is inspirational. This award is well deserved.”

DamaiMikaz is such a supportive deviant. She is so open to sharing her knowledge of the big stuff and the little stuff. I enjoy looking at her gallery, but I’m the kind of person who admires the resourcefulness of a person as well, and she’s got that in spades. Want to know how to get more page views? She’s written an article! Got an art-block hovering over you? She’s got you sorted. It’s as if she feels that all that super awesome knowledge in her head simply must be shared. That’s a special gem, make no mistake. Nothing good is good unless it’s shared so other people can learn and shine brightly as well.”

What can I say about DamaiMikaz ? Well she knows how to translate energy onto a digital canvas, whatever she creates, you cannot help but be in awe at the power of her mark making; not only that, but the symbolism she uses to drive a story forward in which we are forced to wonder … somehow like peering up at the stars, where we are left to imagine what else is out there.

Damaris is a humble and charismatic person and there is no doubt she deserves this Deviousness award, Congratulations!!”

I started watching DamaiMikaz over a year ago and I could witness an incredible progress in her artworks (which were great already!). Her gallery is the proof that dedication and hard work can lead you anywhere; on top of that, she’s a really humble person. She gets along with anybody and takes time to leave helpful and nice comments on other people’s deviations: she’s the glue that holds a big part of the community all together.”

Hey, this makes me quite happy! Damai is a huge influence on the site, for me personally she is a motivational symbol. Very straight to the point, logical and practical person. I see her mostly as a speaker, a voice which talks to many! She is that kind of deviant you want to stick around and read what she writes, see what she draws. I enjoy particularly thinking about the messages she presents in her work - thought technically not as developed, it always draws you near. For longer time I hoped she will be presented to wider public - more people should get to know her :) (Smile) So yes! It makes me happy! Thanks for giving me a chance to say something cool about her!”

DamaiMikaz is one of those deviants that brings to the table a unique, inspiring style to the art community. With an equally enthusiastic and positive personality to go with it, DamaiMikaz is truly one of a kind! Shine on DamaiMikaz!”

DamaiMikaz is super active in helping the deviant community with her journals, comments and welcoming every new member out there! She is a example for us all as she’s always kind and honest. It’s incredible how much time she has devoted to Deviantart. If anyone deserves this honorable award it’s her!”

DamaiMikaz is indeed a inspiration for the community, whom without skipping a beat cares about the opinions of others.”

Among few well known and famous people of this community she responds to comments and interact with fans.”

Congratulations to DamaiMikaz!

Luminous Veil

Mon Jul 6, 2015, 8:53 AM

Untitled by Moonbeam13

On Saturday evening, Rob, my mom, and I headed to a Pan Am celebration that would include the official lighting of an art installation he helped to work on.  Let me start at the beginning :)  Rob is an Industrial Electrician and the art installation involved LED lighting of the Bloor Viaduct or Prince Edward Bridge in Toronto.

The bridge has an ominous past.  It was opened in 1918 and by 2003 was the site of close to 500 suicides ranking it as the second most fatal standing structure in North America, after the Golden Gate Bridge. The city decided to put suicide prevention measures in place and architect Derek Revington came up with the plans for the Luminous Veil.  While the construction of the barrier was completed in 2003, due to budget concerns, the lighting was never completed.  Cue present day!  With Toronto hosting the Pan Am games -- and more efficient lighting technology -- funding was made available to complete the Veil and Rob was part of the team that helped to bring it to life.

Untitled by Moonbeam13

The lighting consists of 35,000 LED lights with a possible 16 million colour combinations.  Each foot of the lighting has the ability to be separately controlled but the real beauty, in my opinion, is the weather station.  The lighting changes based on the temperature and wind movement resulting in an always changing wave of colour.

This is the largest and most expensive 'art project' in North America and there was a lot of grumbling about how the money could be better used, however, not only has this project brought literal light to the bridge -- it has sparked conversation about mental health support in Toronto and that can only be a good thing. You can read more about the details of the project here.

In Recognition of Exemplary Membership and an Outstanding Spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community.

Introducing DestinyBlue

“It's probably a true to say I would not be a professional artist were it not for DeviantArt. When I joined the site 11 years ago I didn't want to be an artist, I just wanted to draw; I never imagined this place would help carve my career in art. But then I never expected a lot of what happened to me to happen. My early works were filled with fantasy, but art grew to be more than just a creative outlet for me, it grew to be an emotional one. As times got darker so did my work, drawing gave me a channel to explore and express my feelings, and through DeviantArt, I could connect, and it's been these personal connections, to thousands of people, often thousands of miles away, which have been most important to me.

Recently I opened up about my struggles with mental health, and the community has been unbelievably supportive. I consider DeviantArt my home on the internet, and the only reason a place is a home and not a house is because of family. It's the family here who I treasure, the people who I laugh with, share with, and who are always there to lend support when needed.

It's touching to think that the site which has nurtured me so much, considers I've given something back to it in return. Without DeviantArt I could draw, but with DeviantArt I could become an Artist. So thank you, for the award, and everything.

Peace, Love and Crowns.”

July 2015

Deviousness Award Winner

DestinyBlue is one of DeviantArt's most recognized and beloved artists. She is a long-term deviant who regularly pours her heart and soul into the community, and spends much of her time each day leaving thoughtful, helpful comments for other artists on their work. In addition to the kindness and energy she puts forth into the community, her art is instantly recognizable, covering a variety of themes that any viewer can appreciate and connect with. It is our pleasure to name DestinyBlue the recepient of the Deviousness Award for July 2015.

Showing Some Love

DestinyBlue can be described as nothing less than extraordinary. Her art is astounding, but even more astounding is the flawless depth of its meaning. She extends her heart to people who have experienced all degrees of hardship, and expresses their strenuosity in a way that can be understood by those who haven’t. Incredibly, Blue is a master of both language and art. She’s an iridescent guide and inspiration to artists and non-artists alike. However, more than all of this Blue is a person, a real and approachable person.

For those who have met her at conventions, you will know that your love for her art was reinforced by the smile she greeted you with. Her love and support for her fans is undeniable, and for this Blue is more than deserving of this Deviousness Award.

DestinyBlue brings a sense of magic and surrealism to her work but at the same time it's both very beautiful and emotional. With many of DestinyBlue's works you can definitely feel a relation to the emotions depicted in the work.

DestinyBlue is an amazing artist and inspiration, her attitude towards her fans and the community has always been outstandingly positive and welcoming. Her glowing artwork has always captured many emotions from dealing with self-image to loving the beauty in the world which reaches out and speaks to so many, including myself; one her latest pieces for example "depression" she speaks out about her own battles and struggles which I believe connects her even more to her fans and audience on such a personal and emotional level. It is without a doubt how deserving she is of this honor.

DestinyBlue has been one of the most wonderful people I've had the pleasure to meet via the internet and then magically in real life. (Good old London comic con!) :Aww: Her history is so inspiring and the fact she's been open to the public about her past struggles is so amazing. She's told us how struggling in life can lead to great things and you really can achieve your dreams if you work hard an believe in yourself. :Star: To say DestinyBlue's art is good... would be an understatement. Her art is SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOSIOUS. :dummy: Her drawings are just superb, her colouring is beautiful and the messages within each piece of art is just wonderful. Some of her drawings really touched my heart. She knows just how to portray feelings into her art which makes her gallery so much fun to view. I believe she deserves all the love on DA because she really is such a lovely girl. I wish her nothing but the best in life and hope to see her again in the future to purchase more of her wonderful art!

DestinyBlue is a long time deviant with a tremendous influence in the digital art community! Her distinctly beautiful painting style and emotionally relatable works have earned her tens of thousands of fans and her passion for working with people has made her a role model for her fellow artists. She definitely deserves the recognition!

DestinyBlue has a very distinctive style of art. One look at her artwork and you know it's hers. The colors are beautiful, soft and it is just simply beautiful.

DestinyBlue is definitely someone who deserves this Deviousness award, a truly wonderful artist with a heart of gold. She really brings people together on DeviantArt with her thought provoking and heartfelt art that speaks volumes where words fail. A long time member of DeviantArt she inspires and lifts many artists both online and at conventions with her enthusiasm and dedication, including myself!

Ohhh my goodness! DestinyBlue is one of those artists whose work installs directly into your heart! Her use of colors and light are her signature, but also the emotions she makes the viewers feel from the very first second we look at her pieces of amazing artworks. She is absolutely inspiring, and I admire her profoundly for sharing her heart with all of us, since the stories her works show are all about her, about her struggles, about her beautiful heart! She’s beloved around here! She gives a lot to the whole community through not only the inspirational artworks, but also through all her conventions! She gives opportunities to other people, and that is AMAZING of her! Her sweet disposition makes her unique, a one-of-a-kind human being!!! And I couldn’t be happier to see her getting this Award!!! Congratulations my sweet dear DestinyBlue, you SO deserve this!

DestinyBlue is one of those unique people that can convey a very strong message without even using words. The art she makes isn't only stunning on a technical level, but every single one of her artworks carries a strong underlying message. She isn't just a person that makes art, she expresses herself in it. She shows the courage to not only talk about the beautiful things in life, but also about the darker and more confusing stuff that happens to all of us when we are busy figuring life out. Many of her artworks evoke discussions, in which she gladly takes part. To me, her artworks embody a shining light of hope.

I have been hooked on DestinyBlue's gallery for a long while now. It has been a treat seeing her progression over the past several years. Each piece of art she turns out still amazes me. Her emotional concepts and use of vibrant colors and light are her signature style, and it makes her work easily recognizable. Each of her works tell a story. She goes above and beyond for her fans. She attends a lot of conventions around the world to touch base with so many people and to spread the love of art. Blue is an easily approachable person and an all-around sweetheart.

I really love DestinyBlue's artwork a lot; loads of colors and a unique style that's stands out. I've watched her for a long time, and I still love the artworks she's made. Congrats to her!

Not only is Miss Blue's artwork stunning and poignant, but she is also one of the most lovely people I have ever met. I met her at my first convention, and since then every time I have met her not only has she been lovely to me, but every single one of her fans. She has time for everyone, she listens to their stories and always has time for the people she sees.

She draws from the heart and her artwork — its colours, its themes and its messages — encapsulates her own feelings, while also making something that speaks deeply to her audience. She builds a feeling of unity and understanding with her audience; that someone else knows what they are going through, creating stunning artwork while giving those feelings a physical form for people to identify with.

Congratulations to DestinyBlue!

Olive Oil by FallOut99

This weekend started off relatively uneventful with Rob and his dad going golfing Friday morning while I was busy working away.  In the late afternoon however, Rob sat on the couch and I guess something didn't agree with that position because he got a sharp pain in his back.  Figuring it was a muscle strain he asked me to massage it :eyes: and once I touched the spot on his back, he literally hit the ground.

Now, I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried, I mean here's my beast of a husband lying face down on the floor unable to really turn around -- he was turtled. However, I would also be lying if I said I wasn't in hysterics. Those of you that know us will know that this is normal for our relationship. Regardless! We got him flipped over and after a few home assessments, came to the conclusion that he had put his back out.

As we've been down this road before, we weren't too worried, I just headed out to pick up the supplies of muscle relaxers, ointments etc and returned home with my bounty of remedies.

Weekends are usually a chore time for me, and this one wasn't that different save for a family dinner at our place on Saturday.  By this time, Rob had realized that the zero-gravity chair on our patio was exactly what he needed to be sitting in and that's where he was for most of the day.  Once everyone left, we moved it into our living room :P.  Who said patio furniture was only for the outdoors? We like to challenge societal norms -- we're devious like that ;)

Come Sunday, it was time for me to get the grocery shopping done so I got up, took a shower, put on my deodorant, dried my hair, got dressed and walked into my office where I proceeded to make my list.

Then it happened.

First it was a cooling sensation, and I thought 'I'm not used to my deodorant feeling so.. cool?' and then it quickly escalated to burning - excessive, excruciating, burning - emanating from my armpits.

I ran into the bathroom and discovered the culprit -  Rob's 'Stop Pain' roll-on was suspiciously near my actual deodorant.  I had done this to myself and I wanted to die.

I'd like to say I played it cool (pun intended) but I did not, I screamed and then I laughed and then it was a laughing scream and then I ran into my office and started Googling the most ridiculous strings of search words to find a cure to what felt like burning flesh eating disease.

Google of course has answers and some of them were obviously ridiculous but one stuck out as being plausible, and at this point I was seeing stars because of the pain.  I ran into the kitchen yanked the golden cure from the cupboard and began madly dousing my armpits.

Now, if you've never witnessed a grown woman insanely applying olive oil to her armpits, you haven't lived.  Rob was standing on the other side of the island saying helpful things like 'It's a good thing you're pretty' and I was too wrapped up in the quest for pain relief to throw anything at him.

I'm happy to report that olive oil did indeed make it stop, almost immediately.  So, if you ever find yourself in a situation where something that shouldn't be on those sensitive spots, ends up there anyways? I've taken one for the team and now you know the cure.

So, my dear friends, some questions for you!

1. Have you ever done something silly? If you're willing to share it, I'd love to hear it!
2. Do you have any wacky home remedies?
3. What did YOU do this weekend?

The Deviousness Award 2.0

Wed Jun 17, 2015, 5:02 PM
Where Subscriber's Money REALLY Goes by priteeboy
Artists Creditpriteeboy

T he Deviousness Award, bestowed in recognition of exemplary membership and an outstanding spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community, has recently undergone a reevaluation to provide a focus and a re-definition as to just what Deviousness truly represents.

The award is given once per month to honor a deviant who has gone above and beyond in their services to the DeviantArt Community. The 189 recipients of the Award thus far have brought something to the community that was not there before their presence, and it's our duty — and honor — to publicly recognize their efforts in doing so.

Early on, Deviousness was given more than once per month to a deviant whose involvement in the community merited recognition. However, starting in 2004, the award officially became a once-monthly accolade, given to a deviant who excelled in community involvement and engagement. Sometimes professional artists, sometimes hobbyists or art appreciators, these deviants all share one thing in common — a kindred and exceptional passion for the DeviantArt community and an inspiring commitment that truly exceeds expectations.

Artists CreditMadH

W hen selecting Deviousness Award recipients in the future, we will be focusing on recognizing deviants who best exemplify “Authentic Citizenship” in the DeviantArt community.

An “Authentic Citizen” in the DeviantArt community is one who brings community members together, be it over shared interests or art medium, or by providing resources for others to use and reference. These deviants can be outstanding artists in their medium of choice, or they can be art appreciators who provide palpable love and support to their fellow deviants. Highly active in the community, all Authentic Citizens are deviants who strive to be the best they can, providing invaluable mentorship and paving lifelong relationships in the process.

Each Deviousness Award recipient has contributed to the community in a way unlike anyone before them, but some of the common ways past winners have excelled include regular positive contributions to groups, projects, and community events, consistent positive commentary and/or constructive feedback to individuals, and actively engaging with their fellow deviant in meaningful ways.

The sorts of invaluable resources such individuals selflessly bring to DeviantArt include answering all manner of questions asked by curious deviants; being a role model for comment etiquette; establishing a friendly and inviting identity in the chat rooms; assisting deviants in personalizing their profile pages; being a champion and advocate for new and unknown artists; directing deviants to tutorials to improve their craft; being available for thoughtful reviewing of artists’ portfolios; knowing who in the DeviantArt network to put deviants in contact with for specific problems or needed advice. This is far from an exhaustive list of ways Deviousness winners impact our community. In fact, thinking of new and creative ways to serve other deviants is possibly the consummate definition of Authentic Citizenship.

The spirit Deviousness Award recipients have reflects the brand pillars outlined in Our Story.

What these deviants do is

— they reach into our community to create and empower projects and ideas that haven’t been done before, oftentimes that haven't yet been dreamed of.

to create and do more, and to uplift others to do the same.

Each month's Deviousness Award recipient is selected by a small committee of DeviantArt staff who are constantly monitoring the community for deviants who go out of their way to bring good to DeviantArt. While each recipient is selected for specific, individual reasons, there are basic traits they all have in common. Recipients are highly active in the community, offering guidance or advice or even just a helping hand to people they interact with. Some are recognized professionals in their field; all are recognized members of their respective sub-communities on DeviantArt. Every Deviousness Award recipient has worked to help others strive to be their best, and has bettered the community and themselves in doing so.

A potential future showcase of
Deviousness Award winners

Winners of the Deviousness Award embody the life-energy that fuels DeviantArt at its core, and without them, DeviantArt wouldn't feel like the welcoming home it is for so many.

We want to elevate the prominence of Deviousness Award recipients in our overall site design, so they are properly recognized for their efforts. The award is not only about the current month's recipient, but is also about previous recipients, and the importance of the time and efforts they've dedicated to DeviantArt's community. For all of these reasons, we're looking to better showcase and acknowledge deviants who show excellence in lasting ways.

Whether they set out to change the world or just feeding the insatiable muse within, artists at their very cores create something that leaves the world a little better than it was, changing lives around them for the better with every world they create. Their passion, support, and inspiration cultivate a greater community and a healthier, happier global artspace for all to share.

Deviousness Award winners represent every artist and art enthusiast on this hallowed journey of creation, and it's truly an honor to bestow this award on those who have poured so much of themselves into the community they helped cultivate and nurture.

Jeremy Vickery:

I've enjoyed drawing as far back as I can remember, but as a child I never thought I could have a career in the arts. It was through encouragement from friends and family (my community) that I decided to pursue art as a career. And even after art school I did not stop learning, in fact it was just the beginning. I've now worked in the animation industry for more than 17 years, most recently as an artist at Pixar Animation Studios, and I still have so much to learn from all of my awesome artist friends. Years ago, when DeviantArt was still a new thing, a good friend pushed me to make an account.

I was resistant, but finally made one, and I'm so glad I did. It's not only helped me as an artist to find professional connections (many freelance clients came from my DA account), but I've made so many amazing friends, some of which I've even met in person. The community is what keeps me inspired to create more.”

Eric Proctor:

Art has always been an undeniable urge that has affected every part of my life. Drawing, creating, and admiring artwork has influenced my interests and goals ever since childhood. As a kid, my heroes were conceptual artists for games and movies, and a great deal of my free time was spent studying and emulating their work. Pursuing art in college, my educators may have given me the tools to improve my work, but it was my peers and community that influenced my style.

So much of my motivation to create is woven into the artistic community. I draw my inspiration from other artists, my style changes as I study the work of my peers, and the support of the community fuels my drive.”

Jonathan Castillo:

Art has always been part of my life as far back as I can remember. My mom still keeps some drawings from when I was around 4. Art has taught me to see things from a wider perspective, to have an open mind and consider several points of view. I believe that as artists we have that extra sensitivity to see things differently, and that's what allows us to be creative.

This is something I've learned to put in use in all aspects of my life, on a professional and personal level. Creativity can (and should) be used not only for drawing, painting or taking photographs, but for virtually everything, from making your bed in the morning, to doing whatever you do at work.”

Andy Fairhurst:

I've always been an artist, but I have only seen my artwork start to shape my life in the last 10 years, since I started using the internet as a tool to share my work on a wider scale, and to learn more than I could ever imagine. It was always only a hobby, but through the likes of DeviantArt, I have developed and improved my artwork AND means of marketing myself, and now I am a self employed freelance artist. It's been a slow but steady and enjoyable journey.

Celebrating Deviousness - June 2015

In Recognition of Exemplary Membership and an Outstanding Spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community.

Introducing TheGalleryOfEve

Hello! I’m Eve, mostly known as TheGalleryOfEve. I’m a self-taught artist born and raised in Argentina, currently living in sunny Florida, USA. I’ve always been inclined towards the Art world, my family has been a role model for me in many aspects, especially in the Art arena (my Grandpa was a Traditional painter, my Mom loves music, she plays the piano and sings, and my Grandma used to create some of the most beautiful handcrafts I’ve ever seen!) So when I discovered the wonders of Digital Art, back in 2007, I knew right there what I would be doing for the rest of my life.

As you can imagine, self-teaching techniques and concepts takes hours and hours of looking through all kinds of tutorials, that’s how I came across with DeviantArt, my now “Home Away From Home”, a place I cannot live without!

It’s been a beautiful journey, one that has filled my life! I’ve come to meet some of the most wonderful friends I could ever ask for, and every day is such a pleasure to interact with them, to see what they do, to get absolutely inspired by them, and to see their progress, to showcase them and to share my little creations with them! This community has taught me that despite our geography, ethnicity, race, gender, culture or any other differences we could have, we all live under the same sky, and here is where we come together as “Friends in the World of Art.”

Art is my passion, and so is my sweet DeviantArt!

May 2015

Deviousness Award Winner

If you're looking for a powerhouse of positivity in the DeviantArt community, look no further than TheGalleryOfEve. Eve's kindness, charm, and abundance of positive energy has been a beacon in the community for several years, and the good nature that she brings with her everywhere she goes is infectious. From leaving motivational comments for others, to featuring artists in the community who help one another out, Eve's dedication to making the DeviantArt community a better place has made her a shining star. We're proud to name TheGalleryOfEve as the Deviousness Award recipient for June 2015.

Showing Some Love

Community Quotes

Eve is not a star of DeviantArt but a jar; a jar of creamy Nutella on a lazy Sunday morning. Love The love and positivity she spreads throughout the community in her own ways are simply exceptional and never fail to leave a sweet taste in our mouths. I have no doubt in my heart that this crazy yet lovely lady deserves to shine in the spotlight for her selfless distribution to the community just as much as she lets her fellow deviants shine in her own light.

I met Eve a few years ago and when I checked her profile my first thought was "what a lovely person, how does she find time to do all this?". Over time we became friends - I cannot express properly what an amazing person she really is. You think she's awesome even if you don't know her? Imagine that awesomeness times 10 and you'll get close to what she's actually like. Eve pours her soul and passion in everything she does, from group work to personal and community projects and she's always there for anyone who needs advice or just a hug. Are you having a bad day? Talk to her, it's guaranteed that she'll bring a smile on your face. Eve is the kindest and loveliest person i know and i am honored to be able to call her my friend. Congratulations my darling, i am so happy for you! Tight Hug

TheGalleryOfEve is one of the nicest people I know. She is sweet and compassionate; a true angel! She’s like a tiny overactive bird, full of emotions and emoticons, happy for you, sad for you, always around when you need a little bird song to comfort you. She inspired me so much and she still does! Eve is a gift for the DeviantArt community. Her contribution is so much more than features and group activities. She spreads love and happiness! She truly deserves the Deviousness Award for deviating from the norm with her out-of-this-world kindness. I wish her all the delicious jars of Nutella she dreams of. Eve, I am so happy to know you! You showed me flowers and sunshine where I only saw darkness! Thank you!

I am so very excited to see my dear friend Eve get the recognition she deserves for her years of dedication to the DA community! She is, without a doubt, one of the kindest most genuine souls I have ever met both online and real life. Eve is always positive and upbeat and never has a negative word to say about anyone. She is also involved with many wonderful groups aimed at promoting positivity and spreading happiness and good vibes throughout the community. Whether you need feedback on a project, contributors for a contest, a wish granted at dAWishingWell, or you just need a good laugh to start the day right...Eve is there! Oh, and of course her commenting style is one in a million...I mean, seriously, how can you read one of her comments and not smile?...It's impossible! Congratulations my fellow sister in deviousness! This is one award that is VERY well deserved!

A kind and compassionate deviant, TheGalleryOfEve is constantly involved in the community. She regularly features other deviants and conducts interviews~ She seems to always be on the look out for things the community should know about.

TheGalleryOfEve is one of those deviants who puts themselves above and beyond for the community and does so with the best, most positive attitude! Not only is TheGalleryOfEve an excellent member of deviantart, she's such a sweet person and always makes you smile!

I am most honored and humbled to write for our dear TheGalleryOfEve. It is kind of difficult not to give an award such as this to her. It is comparable to giving Albert Einstein an award within the world of Science, it just makes sense! :) When I first came to DeviantArt, Eve was one of the first people I came into contact with. TheGalleryOfEve is truly a wonderful person, through and through. There isn’t a thing that she would not do for anyone here on dA. The kindheartedness, warm-spirited personality comes to mind when thinking about how much she donates to so many others and their artwork. All the features with the time, work, and effort put into them are amazing. The interviews she conducts for her team, and the smaller peeps like myself that she coaches is nothing short of great also, considering how much time she must spend reading all of her notes, comments, and concerns. I learned from her guidance and her support how to not only improve on my own art, but supporting and critiquing others’ art as well. Eve, we love you dearly, and dA would most certainly not be the same without you!

In my opinion TheGalleryOfEve deserves the Deviousness Award very well. She is a kind and unterstanding person and has already received other rewards as well, like "Heartist", "Angel without wings", "Shining Stars of DeviantArt", "Senior member" and "Selfless Award". At any time she answers comments and is ready to give them as well. Artists are well supported by her features, she does on a regular basis and her suggestions also. She is always open for something new and ready to reply on any questions people might have. Her art is unique and manifold in styles from writing to traditional to digital to photography - so she knows what she is talking about when helping others. TheGalleryOfEve is one of DeviantArt's good souls.

Eve is an amazing person and you can find her everywhere on the site, sharing, promoting and commenting on your art (or your journals). She's a lovely supporter to people she knows and people she might not know so well. When you talk to her a couple of minutes you'll see what a beautiful personality she has and you'll want to talk to her again and again. Next to that she has a really bright, colorful and very bubbly gallery, just like she is! Congrats, Eve! You so very much deserve this!

TheGalleryOfEve is an inspiration. From the moment I met her some years ago, I've been inspired by her positivity, her ideas and her genuine drive to help others and promote Art. She constantly promotes others through her Angels Without Wings series and totally deserves that same recognition and more to be shown to herself.

Eve is an absolute delight in all areas of DeviantArt. She is always filled with joy and support, in fact I don't think I've ever seen her frustrated or mad at anything...ever! She is such an important part of the community because of the happiness and love she spreads, and her constant desire to give everything she has to everyone she comes across. I know I can always count on her to join in on fun projects, and I am very happy to see her receive a much deserved award for her hard work and time here on DeviantArt.

Eve represents to me the little miracles of everyday life. A message from her always makes you smile, she brings happiness all the time.  Her enthusiasm and dedication exudes from any of her artwork, notes, actions, support, help, and kindness. Eve is consistent and true and she has a fabulous sense of humour. She is one of those deviants I'd like to meet in real life, if only to give her a hug for helping me stop smoking after 17 years! TheGalleryOfEve helps to spread the core values of the site, by being a fabulous mentor to new and younger deviants and being a supporter for those of us that have been here for a while. I'm truly happy she is being recognized for what and who she is through this Deviousness Award. If there could be the title of the "Devious Diva 'til Hell freezes over": then she would deserve that too.

I met Eve several months ago as part of dAWishingWell, and that in itself should speak to her incredible character. She was happy to donate her time and energy to creating an environment of giving and promoting community. She's one of the most supportive people I've met, freely offering her advice, effort, time, support, and even just an emote hug when you need it so you know someone out there cares about you. (Though you might not think so if you looked at the "Tag" emote she created! ;) ) She really is a wonderful deviant and an outstanding member of the community, an embodiment of the positive aspects of DA that is my sincere pleasure to say I have had the opportunity to know.

Congratulations to TheGalleryOfEve!
