when i was a kid i wanted to be a marine biologist, but that required math (like wtf? math underwater?!) so i never did that. i went to journalism school instead. and now i fix computers and take photos for a living. go figure.

as for yourself, you really should take the time and get connected with yourself again. it will help you to set your goals and start moving towards them. nothing happens overnight, but if you're generally moving in the right direction, you'll get there eventually. :)

But you're happy doing what you do so that's success right there I would think.

As for getting connected.. yeah, sounds good in theory, I don't know when/if it'll happen but it's a nice dream.

I went to school for Marine Biology, never finished though. I can say the math wasn't really as big a deal as they make it out to be, you mostly need it for population studies and with the rise of computer popularity they can do all of that stuff in 1/1000 of the time it takes a human to do it so it doesn't really matter :)

I've battled with this one alot lately. Seeing my 30th birthday coming up very shortly is really scary, especially considering where I am right now. I've spent the last 10 years of my life going from job I don't like to job I don't like to pay the bills (the biggest one from the college degree I never finished, yay?). Right now I'm unemployed, between jobs I don't like, so to speak. What the hell do I want to do? There are so many things, so many... There's just not enough time and money to do them all, so what do I do? Pick one and chase it on the off chance that it turns into something? Which one though, there's the problem.

Sometimes I want to be an Architect, sometimes a Dog Trainer, sometimes an Artist, sometimes a Mother, sometimes a Programmer, sometimes a Writer, sometimes a Nurse - and that's just this week. :P

sadly they required decent math marks for entrance to university, even though computers do all the work. i'm not bitter though. it's important to understand stuff works even if you have a computer to do the work. it's like photography. auto exposure is great, but know how to manual too. :) thanks for sharing.

I forgot, your universities are alot more demanding than ours (in the US). When they see bad entrance exams in our schools they just think of all the extra money they are going to make when you have to take the math classes 5 times to pass.
`superkev:iconsuperkev: Sep 17, 2004, 12:02:11 PM
wow. maybe ours should think the same way. then they'd stop complaining about not having enough money! we canadians are altogether too honest sometimes. keeps us off the medal podiums in the olympics too. :P
