Pretty much, I'm with you in what you've stated - I know agreeing with everything is boring but.. *shrugs & grins*

I noticed the red trend also in your work - it never bothered me in the least and I thought of it as something personally you. I try to diversify but keep my style within it all - something to be wary of is noticing a pattern in your work but then feeling obligated to stick with it - sure if you see something red you like and naturally want to capture it, you could go for it and it would be great - but if you see something blue and discard it because it would clash, even though deep down you love it, it becomes a problem. Really, just applying the perspective you see the beauty in to your work makes it yours - and that's what attracts me personally to art as a whole - the ability to express my viewpoint.

Great entry... and because I forgot in my last reply on "Abandoned" - feel free to share the ghost story you've summoned about it, I'd be interested to hear it.

Ahh you agreeing with me isn't boring at all, we're just connected I think :)

I'll try and pen out my ghost story and show it to you

Just remember that judgement isn't necessarily something to be discarded in all things - art included. I am in actuality a very judgemental person, I just happen to be rather selective about it [again, a judgement call ;)]. If something doesn't strike you as artsy, that doesn't mean that there is something wrong with you - I could, for example, love the colour orange and hate the colour green, yet there wouldn't be a problem with me, necessarily, for disliking the green. [I like green, really I do, just an example].
$Moonbeam13:iconMoonbeam13: Aug 28, 2004, 7:52:19 PM
oh that's not what I'm saying at all. I may not see something as artsy and that's fine. But I do maintain that it's not within my right to tell the person who created it that it's not art.

What isn't art to me does not mean it isn't art to someone.

That's all I'm saying :)

All I can say is, do it for yourself... who gives a damn what anyone else thinks. :P It is the only to keep from going insane as an artist.

i'm having this problem right now... :(

but i don't care what a few small minded people think - call me arrogant if ya like, but my art will NOT be stopped.

just wish i didn't have to fight for every shred of recognition i've had over the years...
