ver·ti·go (vûrt-g) - A sensation of irregular or whirling motion, either of oneself or of external objects. A reeling sensation; feeling about to fall.
I am afraid of heights. I am not particularly fond of tall buildings, bridges, flying.. you name it and when I'm in a situation that brings on this fear, the vertigo I suffer is sickening, so it's almost ironic that I brought it on intentionally to take this shot but I was inspired by a dear friend of mine and decided to challenge my fear. I'm not an architectural photographer by any stretch of the imagination but it certainly was an interesting experiment.
Note: The church is The Church of the Reedemer in Toronto at the corner of Bloor and Avenue road and was built in 1879.
I fell for this photo at first sight. First of all , I like the balance in this particular photo. The way you took this photo from the lower angle also portrays the majesticity of this Church Building. It's a very wonderful shot! By looking from this angle , plus the sky above , it makes me feel so small , and since this is a Church , it somehow also portrays that God is superior. I really love the message conveyed in this photo of yours! This picture taken in black and white also shows the age of the Church's building. I love every concept I see in this photo! Awesome shot!
Wow, very cool angle! Looks like it was taken with a wide angle lense to get everything in it correct! Makes me want to go work on my own black and white images.
Interesting capture. Very balanced and shows a lot of detail, but this sort of view on such a building is rather...uncommon, I think? At least I personally don't see many photos like this. >.>
