My grandmother is a survivor of many things, the most recent being breast cancer. She was always full of life, beautiful and a woman to be reckoned with but her battle with cancer seemed to snuff some of that joie de vive and part of her was lost. This picture was taken at an event following her last batch of radiation treatments. I had been watching her all day and suddenly she burst into uncontrollable laughter and I had to grab my camera. I showed this to her later to remind her of who she is inside, regardless of what happened on the outside and she was very touched. On an important side note, I really liked this photo because you can see how protective my grandfather is.
Please note that my grandmother passed away on April 13, 2007
