In a way, deviantArt is like Wikipedia. If you let groups, clubs, journals and features pull you across the page, you never know were you end up and what you stumble upon on the way. Like this picture, which has been around for nearly two years, but I discovered it today.

There are a few things that bother me about my latest find. Lets start with the small red petal that pushes itself into the frame on the left side. However, focusing on the middle and essence of the picture, its hard to notice. Another thing is the crop of the top petals. They are present on the image almost entirely, safe for a small part ... but, since they are background, that too is something that only occurred to me on the third look.

What amazes me is that even though the branches are very close together, the out of focused once are blurred out a lot. This really helps to focus on the subject matter, without completely overshadowing the fact that not only the subject is there but also the environment around it, completing it.

I was wondering whether having the main stem of the plant visible throughout the entire left side would make a difference according to the title. It isn't hard to imagine how all those different florals branch away from one initial plant, so the visual clue would simply point the audience towards that direction more rapidly. They are reaching out towards unknown fate from there roots, like everything in nature descends from a common source to form a variety of species and adaptations. Thank you for capturing and sharing one of them.
