Anguish
                         heaven teases by a moonbeam's shine,
                        while hell's dark promise hides it's design
                        with the bright sun boiling in
                             burning skies.
                        broken doll, bat your soulless eyes;
                        wooden boy, tell your pitiful lies;
                        my soul, my love, they cannot fly,
                        beaten down, despite all they try.
                        none hear my anguished cries
                        while inch by inch, my heart does climb
                        only to be cast down
Fog
                     When the fog drifts in,
                    Engulfing my dreams,
                    Shadowing all reason, all purpose.

                    It magnifies doubt,
                    Leaving me gasping and empty.

                    There lies no hope,
                    No trust,
                    No thought,
                    No love.

                    Its bitterness rings shrill in my ears,
                    The harsh sound of one thing,
                    A thing that lies hidden inside.

                    As a dormant virus... it attacks.
                    Breaking me down,

I know.. why cows you ask....

I went to a secondhand store to find props for my superstition series. They have 'grab bags' of stuff for $2.00 and I was challenged to get one of these bags and shoot whatever was in it but it has to be postable on dA. The challenge was on and I ended up with two salt and pepper shakers in the shape of cows ;)

Aside from that I did have intention and something to say (as always I know.. chatterbox that I am) and whether or not I did that for you all, I don't know, but the exercise was therapeutic on many levels.

As someone who really enjoys whimsy, I have to say this really tickled my fancy. I love the way that the other cow is reflected in the face of the other as well as how you captured the smoothness of their surfaces with the way the lighting plays off of their faces. Great job making the entire background black as that makes our two adorable subjects stand out beautifully.
Their snouts are touching is a really cute idea ! Perhaps bluring the body of the cow on the right a little would draw even more attention to their faces, as that's the most prominant focal point of the picture.

I really like how this photograph flourishes with creativity and emotion. It is astounding how many different forms of art there are, and this little masterpiece, though simple...is one of the best I've seen in a while. Great work! :thumbsup: :+fav:

You know, I was just kind of looking through my favorites for no particular reason and I saw this again. I still love it, maybe even more than I did before. Just wanted to say again it's so shocking how moving two little ceramic cows can be. Someday I'll order a print of this one, as soon as I can find some wall space!

I hope things are going well for you lately, I miss ya chickie! :)
