The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. ~Helen Keller
A client of mine gave me her amaryllis since she was going out of town and wouldn't see it bloom. I decided to photograph the bloom for her so she'd be able to enjoy it as well. I took three shots in total.. one distinctly me and two other '

retty' shots. I rarely photograph what I see.. I photograph what I feel inside myself, so it was impossible for me to go with the other two empty shots. Hopefully she'll enjoy it.. i suppose we'll find out.
However, I feel like the petals in the back area bit too much out of focus, up to the point where it starts to look a bit distracting if you look at the picture for long.
Since the heart of the flower is white, it already needs a bit more colour behind it to stand out more and I feel like the blurred petals are a tad to soft in colour to give it that bid of edge it needs to stand out more. I also think it could've looked better with a bit more sharpness to the green core.
All in all, though, I still stand by my first statement: it's colourful and it certainly succeeds in immediately grabbing your attention, I just think some parts might look better if they were a bit sharper. That being said: it's a good shot!
