I've rarely seen pictures of the underside of spiders and this one was particularly huge.. so there you have it, my impetus for the shot. It is sitting outside one of the windows of the house on a huge orb web (orb spider maybe?). So to orient yourself around this.. I had to stand on two old tires.. balance.. because I shot at ISO 50 and wanted to avoid camera shake. I had to take into consideration I was shooting with a window in the background so there was reflection from the house next door and of course reflection of light to consider. I then had to get the beast in focus but not scare it and miraculously keep my own silly reflection out of the shot.
I got one shot before it freaked out and ran to it's corner and this is it. Luck luck luck.
I've left the picture almost it's full size so you can enjoy the minute details, however if you've been to my gallery before, you will recall I have an army of spiders living around me. So if you rip my spider, I will call upon the arachnid army to eat your brains when you sleep.
