Artist's Comments

Carnival lights electrify me. They ignite my senses and entrance me with their dance of flashing colours.

kinda strange effect how long was it left ?has a wonderful warm fireglow to it.

Hrm, cool. But you didn't use a tripod did you?
Out of all the exposures you took this tunred out the best. I think I would like to have seen it slightly slower. But it's a very nice sight anyways, expecially some of the lights on the tower itself that curve the opposite way.

There aren't a lot of options with this digital camera :) I work with my tool to the best of it's ability :)

Thanks for the comment :)

This one is particularly good. Starting at the top: I think the blurred colours and patterns of light are very appealing here, it is interesting near the right top corner where it is a little more distorted also. The next portion, with the red and yellow diamond shapes looks as though a layer of steam/energy is falling down over it, a great effect. The green and yellow diamonds I just like because they remind of taking apart a Little Debbie "Nutty Bar" ;) [they have some nice reflections too, so it isn't all food oriented there]. The second to the bottom portion that appears to be made from wood adds a bit more class and, of course, the bottom portion is very ornate and almost removed from the rest of the photo, but good nonetheless.

This and the carousel are my favourites of this series so far. Nice work. :rose:

Ahh, that's a shame. I think you should invest a few hundred into a mid-range semi-compace digital camera...(thinking of my A80... it works well enough(every option advanced ones have... just to a small extent)).

Anyways. Looking at your composition, it focuses on the height, how high above the ground that spinning 'disk' is, it's speed. And it's interesting how the lights seem to cut off at a certain point on it.

I had to look up Little Debbie nutty bars :P Thanks for the great comment, those two are my favorite as well, I think the weakest is the ferris wheel, I'm not really that excited by it I'm not sure I'm going to keep it :)

The shutter speed on the long exposure setting on a Canon S400 is anywhere between 1-15 seconds. There's no manual intervention for me to pick nor does it tell me what it selected :) But it's somewhere in there.
